What: Scandinavian christmas party When: Sunday 28th November 4-6 pm Where: John's SBR. Walk through the front gate (beside Trinity), take a left and John's SBR is in the first corner! Price: £3 for members (of Scansoc and John's SBR), £5 for nonmembers

WHAT: Formal WHERE: Jesus College WHEN: Thursday 4 November, we meet in the Jesus College bar 19.00.
Come along to formal at Jesus on 4th of November and dine with your favourite cambridge scandinavians!
Prices
are £7.50 for members and £10.00 for non-members (it is bring your own
wine, max. one bottle per person). And non-members: why not take the
chance to get both a great formal and membership* in the best Scandinavian society in Cambridge for just £12.50?
To
get a place send a check payable to Cambridge University Scandinavian
Society to Rebecka Skarstam at Jesus College no later than friday the
29th of October. Alternatively, why not come along to our weekly brunch
and pay there or e-mail Rebecka at drs53 to arrange another way of
paying. Places are limited so book early to avoid dissappointment!

SRIC - Scandinavian runners in CambridgeIf
you are Scandinavian and like running (alt. hate running but wants to
get in shape and lessen the pain with some good company) then join our
new group Scandinavian Runners in Cambridge on facebook! Anyone is
welcome - regardless of level of experience. There will be all types of runs so no need to be afraid - just come along!

What: Fresher's Squash When: Thursday 14th of October, 20.00 Where: John's JCR (near the bar) Scansoc welcomes you to our Freshers' squash this thursday at 8.00 pm in
John's JCR. There will be homemade Scandinavian cakes, an opportunity
to become a member* and lots of friendly and interesting people to get
to know! If you want us to we will also put a Scandinavian film
(subtitled in English) on in the background.
The event is FREE
and everyone is welcome so come along for a nice and relaxed evening
after a hectic freshers' week! No need to sign up in advance.

WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR WITH SCANSOC!
The time has finally come to start a new year with Scansoc and we hope that you are as excited as we are to get going! Here are a few points to keep in mind for the coming weeks.
1. Freshers' fair - as always, Scansoc will have a stall! Come by to have a chat with the committee and other scandinavians. There will be scandinavian sweets and an opportunity to renew your membership (£5 which gives you £2 off on all of our events)!
2. Our freshers squah will be held Thursday the 14th of October in Johns Bar. There will be a possibility to meet the committee and other Scandinavians and to become a member. Everyone is welcome, there will be free Scandinavian cakes and sweets for everyone attending!
3. As a new tradition this year we have decided to go to Pembroke College for Brunch every Sunday at 11.30 am. There is no need to sign up, we meet in the queue outside. Listen for Scandinavian voices or call Rebecka (0797 2832 554). Start this Sunday the 10th of October!
